Behold (according to a Collective Evolution post on Facebook) the “wand of heaven”!
Aloe Vera has always been around at home, both growing up and in my adult life. We’ve always used it for scrapes, cuts, burns, stubborn mascara, stomach issues (tossed in juices, smoothies or even just water), and as magic medicine for unhappy children when “you’re fine” just isn’t convincing.
As common as it has been in my life, there are some uses that I’m barely discovering now. I haven’t tested these, so feel free to jump in and tell me if you have—especially if it didn’t go so well, though all these recipes look pretty benign.
Here are the proportions I’ve found online; I’m, of course, using the gel straight from the plant and probably tweaking the amounts, but you get the gist.
- Facial cleanser – 1 Tbsp aloe vera gel with 1 tsp almond milk, and 1 tsp lemon
- Anti-aging mask – 1 Tbsp aloe with 1 tsp 100% raw organic coconut oil,
- Exfoliating scrub – 1/2 cup of aloe with just enough sugar or baking soda
- Mouthwash – 1/4 cup pure aloe vera gel dissolved in a 1/2 cup of water
Let’s just see how much magic I can get out of this wand of heaven.
