I got a cool tweet sent my way that involves lassi variations. Don’t know if the person actually follows my twitter conversations or not, but I absolutely love yogurt drinks: ayran, lassi, kefir, etc.
Kesar Elaichi Lassi was listed in this fabulous tweet. I’d never heard of it so I ventured onto YouTube and found this video, fell in love, and got to work on one. It’s a Punjabi recipe and it makes me so happy! Make one and see if it makes you happy, too.
Put all of this in a blender:
- Yogurt (500 mg)
- Sugar (1/4 cup)
- Saffron (10-15 strands, soaked in 2 tbsp of milk)
- Whole Milk (1/2 cup)
- Cardamom (6-8 pods, crush and discard the skin)
Serve and top it off with nuts:
- Almond slivers (for garnish)
- Pistachio slivers (for garnish)
What do you think?
This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe. ❤
