It’s on. Europe, here we come.

Since September of last year I’ve been working on the hubby, pushing for another adventure. While he’s always on board for a vacation, I had something more extensive in mind.  As busy as we’ve been, it was quite the campaign, but by year’s end I had convinced my wonderful man that spending time in Europe—real time, not just a couple of weeks—is a great idea.

After much back and forth over how long was long enough, we’ve agreed on three months. Achievement unlocked. Next challenge: an actual plan. The first quarter of this year has been all about nailing down an itinerary. I’m writing a post about it because as of today, the first half is planned. Yes! As soon as we have tickets purchased, the countdown will begin.

I love traveling for so many reasons: new sights, new smells, new ways of seeing things…even the frustrations and confusion. And then there’s the delicious relief of coming back home. The whole cycle of a travel adventure is worth it.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.
